I read it a while ago. Like I said, why rush it? There's no need for it yet & implementing it before pools are ready only pushes miners away. I commented about this in the previous thread & dev thanked me for the heads-up, then BAM - it's happened anyway. It doesn't make any sense to do it before miners/pools are ready for it.
thats why its being tested extensively, dev could have released it untested a long time ago just like some other coins did and then faceplanted on bugs that led to hardforks and problems.
i cannot comment on pool readiness but afaik dev has been in contact with major pools, and also runs a segwit ready pool

Yes rushing is useless. Right now I'm concentrating on fixing more on the vialectrum client side wallet.
So here's what I said in the Viacoin telegram room.
