So, regardless the russian intentions, the country already exists only on paper. And this is NATO, not Putins doing. Russian presence if nothing else could bring western media attention back to region they left in ruins. Some clean up is well overdue.
Sadly for me the problem is always those outside forces who wish to leverage the liberation of a country for their own little corrupt gains rather than let the global market and the locals find a prosperous and harmonious future together
For example it's not pratical to break up lybia or federalize it as long as those outside forces always try to pick a side to use it.
However in witch part of the world did the russians have any positive influence? All those foreign expedition are just to try to bring the looters of russia to another place to get more loot for various domestic groups.
Again trying to push russian islam there? Furthermore if the mess in syria was not continued to help a friendly to the looters of the kremlin more attention could be put elsewhere.
