Most of the Bitcoin long term holders I've seen so far have not been disappointed by the currency. I think that seeing your holdings going up in value should be something good, but something even better is the possibility of having total control over your own money, without having to depend on third parties.
Yay, long-term holders of bitcoin except those are buying the bitcoin on the ATH. Bitcoin is full with the volatility, the result of your long-term hold depends on your early start to get on the bitcoin itself. Although those are still keeping his money on the SPV wallet and i can say if they are having total control of their bitcoin.
Holding bitcoin in the long term does not necessarily mean holding without selling a part of your coins to take advantage of the price movements, when there is clear evidence that a bubble formed then it is ok to sell an important part of your stash and then when the price goes up you can buy again and obtain even more bitcoin.
