That's what intelligent people do. They never fight with someone who is equal or superior to them in fighting capabilities. BTW... when was the last time the Americans had a fight with either Russia or China?
Last time it was the bombing of Syria. Before there were sanctions. Americans have long only and do quarrel with Russia. China probably is no problem because after meeting with XI Jinping Trump sent a fleet of America to the shores of North Korea.
China will react violently to any attempt to remove Kim Jong Un from power in North Korea. If the dictator is removed, that means that the American missile installations will be placed right on the Chinese-North Korean border (assuming that North Korea will be merged with the South, to form a united Korean republic, under the influence of the US).
I think that with equal or strong opponents, they rarely make peace. Let it even exist, but the opposition always remains. The United States never fought each other against each other. But still their wars were carried out in other territories. Remember Afghanistan or Vietnam, and now Syria.
