I don't think 1k is the maximun because there are more than 1k addresses now!
I also think there is no limit for maximum amount how many addresses are will be collected. It seems it's open for 24 hours and all addresses will be added into this contract.
Maybe DEV choose the first 1000 "VALID" Addresses (Ethereum local wallets and not from exchanges).
