There is a chance that we may go below $1,000 once more. One of the largest exchanges (Bitfinex) is in trouble, and if a meltdown occurs there, then we can expect the exchange rates to crash.
Bitfinex was in trouble in 2014,5,6 and every dam half year there were stories about bankruptcy and being insolvent.
Either way bitfinex is no way closer to what mt gox was when it crashed down.
Even the swamp hacks when they were in charge of most of the market left no such big trace.
Of course there is always the possibility of going below 1000 , there is even the possibility of going below 100 : , that doesn't mean it will happen.
