If you take the time to read more than one little article you will find that the person who controls more than 50% has to be ONE user! Not a pool.
The way pools are currently structured, miners pretty much give their results to the pool which can do anything it wants with them. IOW, it is like Tycho was generating all those blocks himself, so all the hashing power from the pool is at his disposal to do with as he pleases.
