It only depends when you actually know what you're doing
If you have some skills in trading then you can gain great profit from it
And if you're good in the technical stuffs then go try mining.
That doesnt work like that, why would anyone who is into "technical stuffs" start mining, without required equipment?
Of course that you can do it with PC, there is no problem but what is the point in doing that, if you will just simply pay more for the electricity than you can obtain from such an activity?
Mining is only recommended for people who are really know what are they doing, and it has become rather a luxury way to get bitcoins, because the amount of funds needed to start a well developed mining projects costs even more than 10-20k$. Without that money, you should not even learn about mining (unless you want to go with altcoin mining).
