Hello folks!

I'm thinking about starting to trade with Bitcoin, but I see people saying that It's risky & almost like gambling.

I think that I mis-understand the meaning of trading.

For me trading Is for EXAMPLE, buying Bitcoin when It's at 550$ and selling It when It's at 670$. This Isn't risky because If Its value doesn't Increase, you'll just have to keep It until It gets higher enough, Is this trading?

I would really appreciate If people clarified more! Thankx Wink
op what you said is what traders called buy and hold but if we what to talk about trading is a very wide view. In trading we have buy and hold, margin trading, arbitrage trading and binary option trading. Trading is also different from gambling, in trading you have to analyze all the data using technical and fundamental issues but in gambling you only play on luck.

Technically when you are trading, you are also gambling since you're putting something at risk expecting that it will take profit on the option that you have chosen. The thing with gambling is that it is very ambiguous and not limited to playing in the casino, slots, sports betting or whatnot. Investing is a gamble—even buying bitcoins is a gamble as well. Every single thing that you do that includes risking something is gambling in its core.
What Op mentioned were right and no doubt about it, even still there is risk to loss if crash happen in the future but who knows. If you buy bitcoin at $1000 and sell it at $1300, than it is $300 profit. Invest on bitcoin for long term will beneficial obviously as the value constantly rise up and all you have to do is waiting for a while. I consider trading as a plan with strategy according to the market condition which has higher chance to get profits instead put your money for gambling and rely on luck.
