Is this a buddypress install that you are looking to create a social networking type site for the community with?
buddypress is decent, but not one of my favorites for creating a community
What will be the main purpose of that site? Blog posts, forums, etc?
This is a wordpress site and its purpose was to be a crowdfunding site for the competitive markets. Markets like Boxing, MMA, Obstacle course racing etc.
