Being former colonies of france made it very easy for the population of said colonies to immigrate to french. that was my point.

please show me some verifiable statistics. most studies i read point out that usually in the 2nd to 3rd generation most immigrants have around the same birth rate as the natives. (e.g. look at the demographics of turks in germany)
