the industry standard for evaluating retention rate is at 90 days, only 1 month to go but here is the current situation:
60 days March 3, 2017 - May 2, 2017
gravity @ <0.4% retention. its doing worse than majority of games / apps
Oh, I didn't notice they reached 10k downloads. The bad news - only 18 players this week so far, typically goes to about 40 towards the end of the week. And last review was a month ago. They are probably buying just downloads now, no more fake reviews.
I've also noticed that a lot of the talk in their community has switched towards trying to sell the masternode aspects of the coin rather than the gaming side of things while there is a (predictable) lull in development and the gaming world waits eagerly for Gravity to be 'finished'. They apparently started a closed beta for the next update to Gravity last week, so I guess anywhere between now and six months time we might finally see the 'completed' version let loose.
Because they obviously wouldn't want to release it half-baked lest it get trolled for being incomplete... oh wait, never mind.
I'm still not grasping the affection for masternodes either. The ION network is mostly tumbleweeds, no transactions to take advantage of fast confirmations or darksend or whatever the masternodes are supposed to do. And with the massive push for centralization it doesn't seem like the "team" wants the network to grow, so how are those masternodes supposed to make money, other than self-defeating inflation? They even promote "masternode hosting", which I believe has some potential to be a strong competitor to a chocolate teapot.
