Interesting. I think iceland tried to do something similar, if on a larger scale with aurora coin. I've also seen news stories about small towns in the united states making their own altcoin which was to be used locally. Not sure how well it works as I haven't kept up with those developments but it is an interesting idea.

I have been actually thinking of the same scheme and how it can be of big benefit to intended beneficiaries. To make thing simpler, this is just similar to actually funding a project but instead of maybe receiving an investment certificate one can get some tokens and these tokens can also be traded in an exchange (similar to stock exchange).

Maybe crowdfunding can soon be done this way and this can be a good idea to explore as this can open for more opportunities. However, just like any business scheme, this can also attract fake businesses or scams to make a ride with its popularity so we have to be careful.
It was always like that when one comes up with a way to legally earn money, the other does everything to forge the work and luxuriate on someone else's glory.
