You have to know some simple crypto things:

Just look into debugwindow at console... type help for all commands... it is dumpprivkey "navcoinaddress".
Send all NAV to one adress before. Clear your clipboard/history after.

yes you have to let you wallet open an click on staking. then you will earn your navs and you are able to vote for segwit.
or you re buying a nav pi stakebox. then you didnt need to let your wallet open.
