I also got strange behaviors from 2xx cards.
I needed to reset every settings in MSI fireburner when I installed a new card. Sometimes when a videocard stopped mining full speed I needed to change the memory frequency -125 mhz, and it started working full speed again.

yeah, the problem is, that if I look in AMD overdrive/Wattman I cant change any settings regarding core clock nor memoryclock. they are stuck at 300mhz and 450mhz.
maybe the only thing to do is try to install older drivers like the ones suggested. 15.12.
the motherboard im using is an Asus M5A97 R2.0 with an AMD 6300 cpu.
not the most ideal setup, I admit, but it was suppose to be really cheap!
