Sure, as long as you buy only bitcoin and only if the market is continuously rising. For altcoins, it can usually be the kiss of death. For some--lately--buy and hold has worked for, but it's really risky.
And OP, be extremely careful with using margin or short-selling. Those two things have wiped out many day traders.
