BTW, I did not know that phonetically Filipino is so similar to Spanish.
Historically, Philippines was under Spanish rule for more than 300 years. That's why you can still find similarities between Filipino and Spanish language. And there are parts of the Philippines where Spanish is still spoken, if I'm not mistaken.
We have to remember that Philippines is the pre dominantly a Catholic nation. There are a lot of Filipino who are still follow the "old tradition" that who ever didn't believe in Bible would go to hell if they die. And if you ever watch TV here, you will see a lot of shows talking about religion everyday. So that's how Filipinos, they are really deep with regards to religion. But for me, we should respect others believed and don't impost your own believed in them.
