Until now, America could manage this big debt.
After all, if needed, they can simple print more money

In the long term, it's very difficult to say what will happen with this debt.

If China or a few countries will try to lay claim to repay the debt to America, the Americans will declare a default or succumb dollar inflation. Of the 19 billion debt paid one. Americans get rid of its debt, and China loses their money. So nobody wants to do it.
