I don't know about 2016 as the price barely increased in 2016. But yeah currently we are in 2017 and ltc is being pumped so hard that it reached it's all time high price at 24$. And i'm sure this is not the end of the price increase the coin is going to be pumped more and we can expect maybe a 50$ price tag by july or maybe a 100$ by end of this year (if it survived).
I remember seeing litecoin worth 5 dollars and thought about buying it but then somehow forgot the idea. Now I hope it will somehow get down to at least $20 and then I'll buy some. Litecoin is a good currency and I believe in its future big success. Especially with segwit activated. That's really cool everything went okay and litecoin is now having some extra block which secures it from serious attacks.
