For those waiting on the info for the MSI Z170A M5 Gaming board and 7x GPU support I finally have it working on both of my boards.
1) Make sure you're running the latest BIOS!
2) Enable 4G
3) Set PCIe support to "Auto" - DO NOT MANUALLY SET TO GEN1. THIS CAUSES MAJOR ISSUES
4) Enable onboard graphics startup as first! I believe this is changing "PEG" to "IGD" or something in the Advanced BIOS
5) Plug your monitor into the ONBOARD graphics
6) Use either simpleminer-RX-v1093-4.11.rc8-16.60-enableexe0ANDips0.imgc or simpleminer-RX-v1093-4.11.rc8-16.60-enablerc60.imgc (sorry, I don't remember which I used!)
My 14x GPUs have been stable all night long!
How did you manage to reduce power from the wall? I bring up 10 video cards but the power is nearly 1700watts. I have try with moded bios but no difference. On W10 i have managed for 6 v. cards to consume less than 800watts.
SM is a great thing but without voltage control is not acceptable.
I haven't done anything nor have I even checked the draw. I did use the Powerstage feature and all the cards are set on 0.
hmmm.... if only we can build a "flashing rom utility thumbdrive"

If I get time at work tomorrow I'll try and compile the tool in the same kind of environment and see if it'll work. I may also be taking down a couple of the rigs for migration today and I'll see if I can increase the /tmp space that way.
so i was finally able to get the usb drive recognized but it doesn't boot, just a garbled colored screen, so i'm guessing I have some sort of hardware issue. Would boot into windows but crashes with a driver issue everytime you try to start any mining program or anything that loads the gpu. This is with 3 different gpu's run 1 at a time, both stock bios and modded.
This is normal with 4G enabled. Did you follow my instructions? Is your monitor plugged into the onboard GPU?
