According to me  If I Really have 1 BTC to invest then I will invest this amount in bigger Coins by checking the Volume and demand of popular coins if there is a less demand of the Coins then I can't expect that the coin will give me better returns but if  the coin has a great demand and volume then I would like to invest my money in those coins because there is a better chance That you will make your money double and triple.
as 1 bitcoin is not such a big amount to be use for trading good and expensive altcoins but i will trade cheap alt coin having good potential . as  i can purchase a good amount of that coin and more chances are there to get a good amount of money by investing there.
i think 1 bitcoin is enough to trade bitcoin and i have experience in trading with cheap price altcoin i mostly lost my money because cheap price altcoin demand is very much low and no one interest to invest in it so i prefer that bitcoin trading is much more better than any coin.
