For my 3 card GTX 1080 ti rig I am using windows 10 pro. Just to have the flexibility to switch between zec, eth, and other alts.  It's ok mining eth. Will do about 120 MH/s for eth. But it  will do zec at 2100 Sol/s at 600 watts.

A similar 6 card rig with RX 480's will 150 MH/s eth and 1700 Sol/s unmodded at 900 watts.  I got the inspiration to do this build after reading a post by Philipma who did a build with 3 GTX 1080 ti's.

I have done multiple 6 card rig builds and they have all been work to get the cards going. A 3 card setup will be easy and it will use less electricity.  Also 1/3 less heat. Some don't care about heat or sound but it's all about tolerance.

Plus if you decide that mining is not your thing then you can use the 1080 ti's to build an awesome sli gaming rig.
