I was not around at the time and always thought Gavin only gave away his own bitcoins. Now I see someone posted that they donated 500BTC towards Gavin's faucet back then. What would be nice is if Gavin could reveal the total amount of bitcoins that they distributed to faucet users back then. It should show the Blockchain evidence, so that we can check how many of those coins have been used over the years and how many are still unused in cold storage. ^smile^

Damn, this can make some good stories, if people are just willing to share.

The day when Freebitco.in FREE ROLLS reach 1 or 2 Satoshi per hour, we will kick our ass that we did not use it more. I guess the price will be between $4000 to $5000 per bitcoin when it reach those levels. ^smile^

This is sort of possible to do.  The wallet address for the faucet is: 15VjRaDX9zpbA8LVnbrCAFzrVzN7ixHNsC

If we look on blockchain at that address: https://blockchain.info/address/15VjRaDX9zpbA8LVnbrCAFzrVzN7ixHNsC we see a total of 19,750BTC.  That is a current valuation of $47,830,550.50 and the current balance is $2.81.  Without knowing what percentage of coins (if any) Gavin kept, I think we could assume that over 19k Bitcoins were distributed to users.  Of course, some people abused it and I do remember seeing threads from Gavin with different ways to prevent people from double dipping into the faucet.
