Decred is not a plane, it's a crypto featuring actual on-chain democracy.  Stealing metaphors is a nasty habit.  

Decred airdropped to everyone who asked ~240 DCR, which at the time was about 1 BTC worth (now 2.3 BTC).  

That's the opposite of Dash's Instamine ,which only benefited insiders and permanently distorted its stake voting to the point of being mere Democracy Theater (where no coalition of Actual Users have Masternodes sufficient to overrule Evan's 250,000 and Otoh's millions).
