What the hell this image has to do with lens distortion, and atmospheric magification? If it would be distortion you would see the whole building or city or whatever DISTORTED or magnified not just a little piece of the tallest buildings would be seen. Yes, in your link there is a magnification compared to the boat, but in our case it's irrelevant.
