BTC Bitcoin is more of a proof of concept that the blockchain can function as a store of value and information. Bitcoin does not work best as a currency since people will tend to horde it, but as a store of value well.....there is no other 

I think another cryptocurrency will eventually take over as a currency for exchange if the Fiat system were to fail for whatever reason. IMO, Dogecoin and Ripple are pretty good bets for achieving this function.
