Probably not the place for it but I´m not sure where else to ask. I ran out of space syncing the verge wallet so I moved it to another drive. When I start syncing again, it starts over in the same place.
Where do you change the directory in which to sync?
you can use the --datadir flag, so say you want to use a different hard drive, assuming windows OS.
verge --datadir=D:\vergedata\
and that will start using a different folder. also you can download the data faster than syncing from vergecurrency.de
dont forget to copy your wallet.dat over to the new directory!
Thanks for replying. Where do I change the datadir flag though? I´ve got a file named VERGEd. If I click on it, I get a dos interface that pops up. Is that where I change the dir?
well if you are using the qt exe, or the d .exe, you just put it at the end of the command line. if you're using windows, just right click the qt.exe, and make a shortcut, then in the new shortcut properties, add that flag after the .exe
So I´m starting to feel like a complete idiot. Which is probably an accurate description in this case. But I´m not used to doing stuff like this. At all. Just want to clarify that this is about changing the blockchain directory for the Windows wallet. Someone mentioned a miner previously. So just to avoid misunderstandings.
So I make a shortcut of the Verge-qt.exe
Click properties
But now I´m lost. You say change the flag and add the --datadir=D:\vergedata\ flag.
I can´t figure that out. The only place in properties where it let´s me add anything after the .exe is in the path and I´m not allowed to change anything there?
