Given all the progress that has been done we can easily conclude that currencies will also innevitabely also change over time , Bitcoin being a real kickstarter of it.
The roadmap isn't clear yet, but chances are we are going toward digitally and tech driven currencies ( decentralized or not , I can't say ) We can't see the future, but if you think things of today won't change, you should reconsider your point of view.
