so i started buying parts for a rig im building this is what i bought:
Is there a better or different motherboard i could get?
Motherboard: Asus P9X79-E WS
Processor: Intel Xeon E5-2650 2.0GHz 8 Core Processor, 20MB Cache, Sandy Bridge EP Socket 2011 with Thermal Grease
Ram: Avexir Core Series (Blue LED) 8GB Kit (2 x 4GB) Dual Channel 240-pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory Module AVD3U16001104G-2CW
Power Supply: Evea G3 1000w
Risers: 6-Pack V006 PCI-E 16x to 1x Powered Riser GPU Adapter
Thats about $650 without any cards.....? good choices?
It would be nice to have a list of hardware lol
But its sounding like i should get the RX 460's and get all my money back in 2 months then maybe sell them and get better ones.......but is the equipment above good to do that with or could i have bought cheaper equipment up to too?
Ive never heard of that mobo but on doing some research, it is listed on ebay for nearly 300$, dont spend that much on a motherboard. you should probably get an msi z170a, either the msi z170a-pro or the gaming m5, they are 120$ tops, also couple them with a g3900 processor (55$) and a 4/8gb of ram, that's about 200-230$ for the mobo/cpu/ram and with the evga that's less than 400 total with the risers, spend more money on cards and less money on the motherboard.
Also, what does everyone do about an operating system? Buy a hard drive and install windows 10? Just install Linux?
