For me the simple definition of gambling is loosing money in long run as it will never give you positive results and will only take away your money from you so it would be great to gamble only for fun or for getting entertained as I don't see any point in depending on it for earning money or for earning a living.

If so, gambling is losing money in the long run and will not produce positive results for us, then how do we have fun in gambling? I do not think gambling keeps giving us negative results, sometimes there are times when gambling makes a profit.

The fun associated with gambling is mainly psychological and people who are having fun by losing their money are not actually thinking of their losses. They are actually thinking that they are getting closer to the big win that they will get eventually (until the house edge wipes them away). That is why they are so eager to get back to it and not stop gambling. According to me its a waste of time, but according to addicts its fun.

Yeah but he said that gambling is loosing money in the long run and gambling will never give us a positive result and will only take away our money. If he really think so about definition of gambling, I think he's not having fun, he just doing the stupid thing, wasting money and wasting time (I said this according to his definition).
Well although they have a point that gamblng is just a losing game if you run it long run and will not never give us positive profit. But if you know gambling is a losing game then we need to find some a positive one or a nice strategy that having some goals playing in gambling like on where would you stop after you win or where would you stop after you lose. Just set some goals and be smart playing gambling because as what you say in gambling and define it
