That could be said of all altcoins and it's where you separate the wheat from the chaff, 99% of altcoins spiking to dizzying heights in 2017 market exist only as empty development promises they have neither the talent or vision to achieve.  Even those established teams with longer development landing strips of say 1 - 3 years (looking @ you Augur) have failed to deliver any thing of real use.  So I would disagree with the OP topic and expect @ a future date maybe soon, maybe far there will be many,many cheap coins again.

I can count from my experience only two altcoins that hit the bullseye coupling innovation with consistent delivery, Ethereum & NEM.
