I'm already running the old Mac wallet. What are the steps to change to the new version? For example, will I need to download the blockchain again?
You could place the bootstrap.dat into your roaming directory, should speed things up a bit when syncing.
Re-downloading the blockchain shouldn't take long, though

Do I have to delete any files of the old wallet first?
I would cut and paste everything into a new folder as a backup, leave your wallet.dat in that folder, then run the newest version of the wallet. Cheers!
