return is usually calculated in percentages not amounts. and it actually is better that way because it helps with the golden rule of "never invest more than you can afford to lose"
because if you are thinking in terms of how much $$$ i have earned you will end up going crazy and invest a big amount to increase your $$$ profit.

but when thinking in terms of % then you can have a much better time. you invest what you can afford and make 100% profit

and to answer OP's question i have to say you need to find coins that are under the radar. not coins that everybody is talking about. those coins are already pumped. find the coins that aren't pumped!
