Why ETH price Up today? What happened? what news did I missed? 
It's just how things operate in the altcoin markets mate. Maybe some whale just decided that ethereum was a good investment and therefore they pumped it. Maybe it was a short squeeze meaning that a lot of people tried to short ethereum but there was a lot of bulls pumping the coin so their positions were forced to be liquidated and therefore driving the price up even further.
And it's not even a particularly big pump. Nothing to be this excited about lol.
Exactly, I think some whales decided to buy a lot in a shot time. Also, there is another possibility, more and more ICO projects use Ethereum smart contrast and accept ETH as ico payment, more and more people buy the ETH and the price is pumping.
