Hope there's gonna be a lite/electrum wallet someday, the qt wallet is a little unstable and it's taking ages to sync 
The Mac wallet has been functioning fine for me - moved a bunch of coins into it a few times without any issues.
You just have to get over the very long original sync process.
Hopefully with the MTP release there may be an improved wallet with a more efficient initial sync.
