Disadvantages? I assume it's the usual fee and confirmation thingy? You have to understand that every altcoin that eventually gets to cope with the high level of Bitcoin's current usage, will suffer from the same difficulties. People don't seem to look at things from that perspective -- they just see that altcoins are confirming transactions faster, and generally with lower fees, but they forget to look at the fact that barely any one is using these networks. Just look at what the little bit of usage is doing with Ethereum's fees, they have increased significantly, and people still consider them cheap? What a bunch of wackos....
