I totally agree on your argument. Before it maybe possible to earn this because the value of bitcoins is not that high compare to before but now a days it is a different story. Every or almost all faucet sites depends on the current price of bitcoins when giving their claim(satoshi) per certain time, thus making you earn much a smaller amount than before but they had the same price when exchange to other currency.
