Our world faces destruction of environment, ecosystems, pollution of seas and unchecked greed from western post-industrial revolution free riders. Net result, mainstream academics agree, is a state of affairs where humanity will find it increasingly difficult to survive as a species.

NB: Marx was a capitalist, he just thought the means of production should be owned by the producers of wealth (i.e. the workers).
