Many people complain of high taxes, when there is an easy solution they're too stupid to think of. Get a second job lazy ass.
So you want us to work for 20 hours a day, and then pay a tax rate of around 70% on whatever we earn, right? In my country, if we add up all the direct and indirect taxes, then it comes to around 60-70%. And the biggest comedy is that only around 2% of the population is paying income tax. The remainder is living off these 2%.
I think we somehow share the same problem. There are some differences, however.
Here in my country, the great majority, around 98%--poor and the middle class income earners--are working hard day and night just to make ends meet. Of course, it still ends up lacking all the time. But these are the ones that really pay taxes. It is from these hard-earned money coming from the sweat and labor of poor and average income earners that the government is being supported by its, well, low expenditures because the rest go to the officials' pockets.
The joke is this: the remaining 2% are earning way way more than the 98% combined without even lifting a finger, but they do not pay taxes. If they do, these are small pennies coming from their huge businesses. And the government is supporting them big time.
Opps, I feel like it was not a joke after all. It made me angry.

From what understand, governments have this scheme since they need the private sector to make jobs, since government can't employ everyone. The problem is that people are just being paid pennies. It's should at least go up as cost of living increases over time.
