Well i thought then when you use VPN that you cannot acces your normal email (e.g. gmail etc.) because the mail "senses" there is something wrong with your IP and doesnt able you to login or to sent emails at least...

that's good enough a reason in itself to do away with your gmail account and switch to Protonmail instead. Welcome to the future!
