Instead of using the term cancelled, as the person you quoted did, I find it better to say that a UASF is more or less prevented with the upcoming 'agreement' for Segwit2x. Currently we're at 80% support already (which is a good thing), and now it's purely waiting for the code to be released to set the next important step. I am seriously excited with how things are going now.

Thats great to see that miners DO care now, nobody would like Bitcoin to fail in price as they earn from mining. Honestly I am not the supporter for SegWit not BU but something has to be done. If the succeeded to implement it before UASF we will see the upward trend instead of downward one which is great. Let's just hold our Bitcoins and see what will happen at end I am fairly positive that they will activate SegWit through Segwit2x!
