As soon as majority of the world is informed and knows about digital currency, what do you think will happen? No matter how good it sounds to traditional banking, how much of the population will make cryptocurrency grow?
If majority of the population jumps into the cryto market then we will be having some serious scaling issue and that would be fun. 
Be it bitcoin or any other coin,there is a certain limitation for the number of transactions sent accordingly and if everyone starts using then there will be a serious issue of upgrading it to suite to the market demand and i am not sure whether they could accommodate every user.
