Why was the $1k party cancelled? Appeared to have quite a few reservations
yes it was cancelled. price went below 1k and people stopped paying their reservations. we wanted at least 100 tickets sold to have enough funds to get a decent set-up going. futhermore, the ticket set-up we used was designed by bits-of-proof. this company was sold to dtcc. we did not get 100 tickets sold = canceled....
I understood the main problem was that a huge, awesome location was needed, but none would be flexible enough for a "in 2 weeks" booking? It was planned to party "2 weeks after $1000 reached" or similar.

you are right. those were problems we were also facing. the rise was too fast for a spontanious party, then it did not stay above 1000 and somewhere during the multiyear dowtrend we decided to cancel.
