Note: this is a theoretical thread to discuss what would happen to Bitcoin, its price, and fanatics if it was suddenly revealed who is Satoshi Nakamoto and that they are now deceased.

What would happen to:

1. Bitcoin technology;

2. The price of a Bitcoin;

3. How would the community feel.

Discuss.

Unfortunately for you, I have just read an article where it claimed that the creator of bitcoin who claimed to be Satoshi with all analogies and events analysis died in 2013 but nothing happen to bitcoin if truly he had been the one who created bitcoin. What we have witnessed is even a sporadic increase in the price of bitcoin from 2013 till date. So bitcoin has been able to grow without relying fully on Satoshi and that is what has make it worthwhile and will remain so even if we learn of the real Satoshi.

Mhm we've all seen articles saying Hal Finney was Satoshi. 1 problem though, there's no actual proof. It's all heresay. He was Satoshi's #1 guy, his right hand man, he even received the FIRST bitcoin transaction, but that doesn't mean he was Satoshi. It means he was the genesis block +1. If you see their conversations it would be pretty dumb of Satoshi to just try and explain things to someone that's brand new to bitcoin rather than just being like "hey since you're me obviously you know what's up so here's some bitcoins self. thanks self."

This is not about Hal Finney

Hal Finney died in 2014, while the poster you replied to evidently refers to Dave Kleiman who actually died in 2013 and with whom Craig Wright, the Impostor, was fairly acquainted with (I don't know if they were real friends). That's likely the reason why Craig Wright is pretending to be Satoshi since if Dave Kleiman really was Satoshi, Craig could know some facts about Bitcoin that no one else knew (but he doesn't have the keys, obviously). Ironically, the Wikipeadia page about Satoshi Nakamoto mentioned 4 different people as possible candidates to be the real Satoshi (incliding Hal Finney and Craig Wright himself) but it doesn't mention Dave Kleiman, which remains kind of dark horse
