Of course they invested lots of time and their own money, but that's all in vain without us, the community that is willing to buy their coin, spread the word here, on twitter, facebook, etc. ( just like you do) and I agree, MARKETING.

Also IMHO this is a really missed opportunity, qoute from NAV homepage;
"The NavPi boards have finally arrived, so we have all the parts we need to start to put this product together for sale. We will be training Guy on how to assemble the units, flash the SD cards with the NavPi image, test and prepare these for shipping. With Craig going to Europe for two weeks, we may not get the training completed until he gets back, but we are looking at opening pre-orders for the device on the store before then."

Cmon guys, get two 15 year old nerds, they don't need training and you've got other more important things to do.
Make 50 of navpi's preloaded with symbolic amount of coins and send them out to tech/crypto sites.
But that's just like my opinion Wink

How this project is funded?
Regards.

It's funded by us, investors, unlike some other coins/tokens where somebody took a lot of money in and it will.....you'll see... Grin

uh.... It's funded by the devs and a small part by community. By far most is just out of devs, I believe Craig mostly, pockets.

The community could step up with creating projects and help funding them.

The development team is looking into options for external funding to improve development speed and marketing.

50 Pi's to send out? That's at least 4000$ in raw material costs. Who is going to pay for that? Yes of course all the investments are appreciated, but do nothing to really help the project. It's easy to think that your investment helps development. It's just your money in there and you hope for it to become more. The community hasn't really impressed me with what they have done so far. Of course nice things have been done but the most of work is done by the official team. Lots of promises by community but very few things actually are done in the end.

I'm willing to help out in anyway I can. I already try to spread the word through various means but I am also a tech savvy individual with some free time I'm willing to contribute. Not sure what I can do to help though.
