Phantom is going to be A GUI interface, with options like picking server locations, price, and much more.
You pay in Shift coins.
Phantom is going to a be dApp on a sidechain too.
Goal for Mainnet release is end of month.
Imagine I am a web developer.
I exactly understood nothing from that answer.
except maybe GUI.
Do I get templates? Can I use a merchant application for payments? Does it integrate with social media?
Or is that another layer in between? Who is the customer of SHIFT?
Edit: Also, EOS is going for ICO. Is this similar to EOS? I realize you must be ahead in development. How do you think you will get the investors behind you to outbeat EOS fuzz/buzz.? Or they will roll over this project in 1 year?
As I have been reading on EOS, it is planning to compete against Ethereum/Ethereum Classic. I see is as Ethereum but with Dpos instead of Pow/Pos. It seems likely to me that dApps could potentially be developed in EOS which will offer the same functionality with Shift Dapps and developers may do so in the future once the EOS platform is released; Not sure how it will play out. Right now a EOS token is worth 3 dollars resulting in a 3 billion marketcap, while the shift network is 20 million. Potentially, the shift network could become an alternative to EOS and if so, it is very very cheap right now. If this is a winner take all game then I think shift faces stiff competition for its ambitions; maybe there will be room for various alternatives though, or shift can carve out a niche that will make it successful but not the top dog, that is if it fails to become the top dog.
