Please forgive my ignorance but I just got a crazy idea. Would it be possible to dual mine ETH and EXPANSE or UBIQ given that they are all based on the same dagger hashimoto ethash ??

Not possible without losing hashing power. Dual mining is possible by utilizing different resources at the same time, not the same resource. So algos must be different and very specific.
