I had stopped looking for any updates on this a while back, but coincidentally, checked reddit just today and found one post that might be of interest for some. I would not get my hopes up just yet, but maybe, just maybe, there's still some chance for this one to succeed.

Thanks for reaching out, I’m responding on behalf of Bob and the ZiftrCoin team.
Yes, we are continuing development on the ZiftrCoin/GoPayWin platform. In 2016 we spent over $1 million in development costs. We recently reacquired all of our technology (the payment platform) from GoCoin and dissolved the merger.
Our team is in the process of merging the code base into a shopping platform that will use the ZiftrCoins as a point reward system for mainstream merchants. It is still our policy to not hype the coin or pre announce events, which is why you haven't heard an update from ZiftrCoin in awhile.
We took a look at ZCoin and the symbol shows as XCZ?
In summary, we are still working on the project and have high hopes in our long term vision of bringing blockchain technology (through ZiftrCoins) to the general public!
