I think the issue that people (such as myself) are having with BTC-E is that not only is their reason for suspending peoples accounts a bit strange (so you've not used it for several years, so what?) but that communication with their support team is so unprofessional that undermines any confidence in their business.
I don't want to send high res photos of my passport, and me holding a passport to a company whose identity/location I'm unaware of, who don't reply to my emails promptly (eg within a week) if at all. At best they seem wildly out of their depth, unable to cope with the scale of their business and customer support, and at worst fraudulent.
