first glance cannot see much that sets it apart from the pack
Me neither, to be honest. I guess it's because billionaire Tim Draper connection and the creator's Goldman Sachs background... people are hoping this means ROI
The smart contract aspect of Tezos I cannot comment as I still don't really understand what smart contracts are useful for... do you know of a single RL use?
the only thing I can think of is the Lightning Network...
As for Tezos governance, that is good --- we need coin voting... but Decred already has that and it wasn't launched with an ICO, it's a 'normal', mined coin, much better than just a token IMO.
So all in all, I don't see what sets it apart from the pack, especially from Decred, except for the Goldman Sachs/Tim Draper thing.
Not trying to spread FUD, just giving my point of view.
